Dining Alone Turned Into A Party in Havana

By | February 21, 2011

My third night in Havana, I was meeting up with Maddiel a friend I met on couchsurfing.org at 10:00 p.m. near the fountain near Hotel Inglaterra. I decided to leave from Eva and Adel’s house at 7:00 p.m. to have dinner in the centre before meeting up with him and his friends. Some people don’t like dining alone. I understand their perspective and it could get lonely. However, I’m a girl on the other hand who LOVES food and I love traveling and meeting people, so there was no way I would ever not dine alone. I entered the above restaurant and was greeted by a friendly waiter. I  just love being alone and a girl, you get treated so nicely. lol Who said traveling alone was lonely?

I sat and enjoyed the music being played while drinking my Cristal Cuban beer. :) I love Latin music so much. It’s the most perfect music in my eyes to listen to while on vacation. Or maybe I’m just used to it and have placed a connection with it and being on vacation? I ordered the special which was: lobster, fish, shrimps, rice and salad. Yum!!!!!!!!

The Flower was given from my circus friend!
Yummy Food in La Havana
I met two guys from Venezuela who were in Havana studying to be in the Circus! They were cousins and one of them is already a clown! How interesting I thought! When do you ever meet someone that says they are in the circus? It seemed only real in tales I read as a little girl and here I was socializing with them. :)

Then we started talking to the French couple to our right! And the girl alone in the corner from Italia. And then a guy sitting alone from Spain joined the conversation! All of a sudden it was a party!!!! And I was far from being alone in Cuba. :)

And then a flask of rum started being passed around! lol

And then we ordered more drinks. We started to dance! We started to exchange emails!

All of this fun!!!!!!!!! What time is it? 9:59pm! I have to meet Maddiel at 10:00 p.m.!!!!!! I have to pay my bill! I have to leave! I felt like Cinderella rushing at the stroke of midnight. Hurry up Elaine!!!!
