Flying to Cartagena, Colombia Alone.

By | April 7, 2012

On my way to Cartagena, Colombia! For some reason because it’s in South America, I was expecting the flight to be much longer. It turns out it’s only a four & a half hour flight from Toronto. I’m not complaining, I’m just saying. When you think of South America, it seems like such a far continent away. Colombia is situated on the north eastern side of South America with Cartagena along the Caribbean Coast.

I booked this flight only 4 days ago after seeing a deal I could not refuse with Air Transat for $199 including taxes from Toronto – Cartagena return!

Arepas

I have always felt a strong connection with Latin America and have no idea where it came from. Maybe it’s something past life, I have no idea. I use to tell my family for some reason I feel my heart is in South America, and when I go I will find out. Imagine I meet some Colombiano and we fall in love and he feeds me Arepas and we live happily ever after and I don’t return? lol Hey, it could happen. As my Greek Grandma says ” You never know.”

I’m staying at El Viajero Hostel for 5 nights and doing Couch Surfing for 2 nights! It looked really nice online and it’s situated within the wall of this city. El Viajero is also apart of Hostelling International so I figured it must be a pretty good hostel. We’ll see.
