Potato Chip Fan from Jamon to Oregano

By | May 25, 2013

Have you ever noticed when you’re abroad the variety of flavours a country has in the potato chip selection compared to back home? I do, and that is because I am a potato chip fan! I shouldn’t be writing as if I’m oh so proud to place that junk food in my body, but really I love them. NOM NOM NOM Some people like candy, others chocolate, others veggie sticks. ” It is what is is!” 😛

When I was an Au-Pair in Spain for three months the summer of 2009, I noticed their deep love for jamon (ham) everywhere from in the airports, to homes, to a chain of jamon called “El Museo de Jamon”, which offers all kinds of different jamon selections. They are so in love that they have potato chips with jamon flavour. Interesting right?

If jamon is a huge chip flavour in Spain, it shouldn’t be a surprise in Greece oregano (rigani) chips are sold. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! If you ever go to Greece, I highly recommend you try those. Make sure you get the Ruffles!

As for having chips at home, I am a fan of classic regular chips either Lays of Ruffles, Ruffles All Dressed, and ketchup. mmmmmmm My sister is into BBQ…….. Let’s just say not my first selection. I also like Sunchips, Ms. Vickie’s & Kettle Chips!

What are your favourite kind of potato chips?
