From Tarifa to Sevilla

By | August 5, 2011

Less than 24 hours until my flight back to Toronto, and I am still not in Madrid. I could either go to Sevilla which is still really far and catch an expensive Renfe train or I could go to Algeciras which is a 40 minute bus ride away. Paloma my waitress yesterday told me that Algeciras is a big bus station, which offers many buses to various cities in Spain. I will be able to get a bus from Algeciras to Madrid no problem!

……………. Later on…………………………

I took the bus from Tarifa to Algeciras. I just missed the 11:30 a.m. bus to Madrid and the only other bus from Algeciras is at 9:00 p.m. at night leaving me 9 hours to check out Algeciras. It didn’t seem exciting to me on the way in. It wasn’t on the coastline. I had never really heard about this city before. So, why not go to Sevilla? There is a bus leaving in 30 minutes and it would be a 3 hour bus journey. Is Sevilla closer to Madrid? Hell no!!! LOL It is west of Madrid and still south! Sevilla however is one of the most picturesque places I have ever been to!

…………….. Later On ………………………..

Here I am on the bus now going to Sevilla. In order to go to Sevilla, we had to pass through Tarifa!! LOL So basically, I could have taken the bus from Tarifa straight there. However, I like doing things the hard way it looks like it! I remember the Coach buses fabric. The fabric is green with colourful squares and gray dots. Not very stylish, but I still remember. The last time I was in Sevilla was with Jeannie and Eleni in August of 2009. We all loved it! It was our first time experiencing a hostel together as well. And we ended up in a mixed dorm with guys which was interesting to meet them half naked. lol

What will Sevilla be like now? :)
