Hostel Villa Vento Surf

Coming back into Panama City from camping through the San Blas Islands, I really didn’t know what to expect being in a huge Latin city. I asked the tour driver to drop me off at Hostel Villa Vento Surf, www.hostelvillaventosurf.com in Marbella which would be my new hostel.

Hostel Villa Vento Surf is located in a pretty central location of the city called Marbella. This place looked clean with freshly painted walls. It was very open with an open concept of the reception, gathering area, internet, and table area which stretches further out to an outdoor patio and pool. T

The owner is a cool, super friendly guy named Daniel who is originally from Venezuela with Italian & Spanish decent. Heyyyyyy 😛 He spent the last 8 years living in Barcelona. The people in the hostel were also cool. I mean DUH, us backpackers are super cool, friendly, open people who just want to have a good time. lol

I met some really cool people:

Permacyclists Annabelle & John who are on a project from New York to Rio in search of good environmental news!

To learn more about their journey, visit their site: www.permacyclists.com

Debra, Permanent Vacationer from Vancouver.

My room was a clean white room with 8 bunk beds. All of the bottom bunks were taken, which was no surprise to a backpacker. lol

Free Pancakes and coffee is included for breakfast. Sweeeet! No curfew so you can return anytime! Higher class area = Safe!

I would definitely recommend staying in this hostel and this area in Panama City in Panama City.

Gracias Hostel Villa Vento Surf!!!!

Hang on!! I thought we helped you out quite a lot, through your email requests and so on!! Everyones different and Villa Vento is a good hostel and Daniel a cool guy, but I think you’ll find that theres plenty of people that really enjoy their stay at Mamallena as well. Marbella is a higher class area, but certainly not safer than ours. We’re in a local neighborhood which not everyone can handle, but it’s certainly not dangerous. We also have free pancakes and coffee for breakfast, nor do we have a curfew, in case you had forgotten. At the time you were here the price was also $12 which is a lot cheaper than Villa Vento, and a lot cheaper than what you’ve quoted here.

Anyway, we did enjoy your stay with us, even if you didn’t so much :)

You are right. Mamallena Hostel was very helpful in organizing my wonderful trip to the San Blas Islands with http://www.panamatravelunlimited.com It was one of my favourite trips ever! I highly recommend it to anyone! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sNe5b-IijBI There were yummy pancakes as well. :) I will have to come back to Mamallena Hostel the next time I am in Panama City to get a more accurate experience. One day there wasn’t enough! Thank you Stuart!
